Black bear diner menu4/13/2024 ![]() If you're on the strip, you're not going to find anything that is inexpensive. The food is whatever, it's fine, you're going for cheesy vegas. I think the classic "vegas experience" is at the Peppermill. The carnitas is good (usually get it in a wet burrito), and their chicken mole is nice if that's something you like (someone who has never had mole might think it's very different, or be iffy about it). My go-to is Casa Don Juan in the Arts district near downtown. Broadway Bled.I don't know if I'd say this is the best place for Mexican food. I do not feel that your establishment is wary of anybody darkening your door. And I assure you my friends at my church and other acquaintances will know about my experience. I have decided I will not be back two any black bear restaurant anywhere because I feel they do not train their people properly and the portions dust the potatoes are so small that I might as well not had any. I came to your restaurant after being at our church board meeting wanting to have a nice dinner before going home. I just wanted to leave the restaurant never to darken the door again. Then she had your audacity to ask me if I wanted to get a desert. I pointed it out how small amount of potatoes before I ate them to my waitress, and I was told they were only supposed to give us a dollop. just three mild size bites using my fork. To start with this is the fourth time I decided to try it again this time my Turkey was cold the gravy was right, but I got extraordinarily little mashed potatoes I was able to eat them with. I was extremely disappointed with my experience. Prices are average, portions are large, it's a comfortable atmosphere and there's something for everyone on this menu. We noticed the desert case when we entered, filled with attention getting cakes and pies, but had to pass this time. These onion rings are legit! If we hadn't gorged on my huge serving of fries, we would have ordered more of these rings. The kitchen had no problem omitting the center slice of bread per her request. My wife really enjoyed her sandwich composed of thick cut moist turkey, thick bacon, lettuce, smoked ham and condiments. The cole slaw was just ok and the sweet potato fries were excellent. 2nds and 3rds of more fish were brought out quickly. I ended up taking off the breading and thoroughly enjoyed the fish. I suspect the fish is cod, a whitefish perfectly cooked, flaky and tasty, but the breading surrounding the fish was too thick for me. My fish plate was brought to the table with regular fries and the server promptly brought the sweet potato fries when she noticed the error. My wife ordered the Turkey Club with onion rings for $12.99. I ordered it with sweet potato fries and it comes with hush puppies, cole slaw and tarter sauce. ![]() I like a Friday fish fry, which just happened to be an All-You-Can-Eat dinner special every Friday for $14.99. The menus are like small newspapers and include tid-bits about employees, a story of how two guys started the business and a menu that is bigger than any you've seen. ![]() We were warmly greeted and led through the dining area to a table with comfortable chairs. This place is big and clearly popular as it was a bit after dinner hour and almost. The cabin and bear motif in this diner is a nice change from southwestern decor. It's like a place from the north woods of Wisconsin, Minnesota or Michigan.
